Hawks Hill is a 100-acre private development with a wilderness feeling, close to Lenoir NC, that offers underground power, water and telephone, with restrictions to protect the environment and our neighbors. Amenities include: a hiking trail, park, tennis court and picnic areas, a community clubhouse with an outside car lift and a lower level garage stocked with tools open to all members........and, all this just a stone's throw from the Blue Ridge Parkway!
For many years, developers Allan and Pat Witt spent spare moments, weekends and vacations collecting and restoring cars. In 1991, with their children grown, it was time for serious full time fun!
Hawks Hill began as just a beautiful, environmentally aware development in a great area of the country with mild four-season weather and great roads. And, because Al and Pat liked cars, as they were planning the development, it was decided to design the community around their hobby and see if other "car people" would like to join them....and most of the first residents were indeed automobile enthusiasts.
Over the past 31 years properties have of course changed hands since Hawks Hill's founding. Today there are 21 homes located within the development and our group includes both working and retired folks. Several home owners still collect and own a wide variety of vehicles, however car collecting is NOT a requirement for building and living at Hawks Hill. All one needs is a love of pine trees, wildlife, low taxes, mild climate and friendly neighbors.
